This is a preparatory course for the CLS 3304 field experience. You will be introduced to clinical laboratory science and you will learn the basics of hematology, including some common disorders, diagnostic methods, blood bank operations and safety procedures.

Abstract The objectives of the immunohematology course are to provide students with a comprehensive knowledge of blood cells and their disorders, together with the ability to recognize, diagnose and treat anemia, hemolytic disease, transfusion reactions and transfusion-associated phenomena; to train students to become competent laboratory professionals by providing them with the theoretical knowledge, practical skills and clinical expertise in blood cell analysis.
