Course Description: This course is designed to prepare the next generation of military linguists by providing a foundation for the foundations of academic and public speaking skills in the English language. Content areas include: Grammar, Spelling, Phonetics, Vocabulary, Syntax, and Expository Writing. Exposition of vocabulary includes terms from many disciplines such as history, science, sociology, business, etc. Instruction will be in lecture and discussion format. 1. The student will demonstrate command of the LTR, MTR and LST. 2. The student will demonstrate command of an ammunition storehouse. 3. The student will demonstrate command of multiple echelon support operations. Course Assessment Methods: The course will be assessed by a written exam, attendance, and participation in class discussions, group projects, and live fire exercises. Students are expected to have access to a computer with Microsoft Office software for assignments (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

MILT312 Course Pre-requisites

1) A Mature Adult – Must have significant Adult Life Experience (minimum 18 years) as shown by age and/or experience. The applicant must be over the age of 18 and have at least 2 years of experience serving in a military role as an Officer (or equivalent civilian position). Military credentials may be required for some positions. 2) Have basic knowledge of military language(s) (English / French). No specific training is required. (MCAT) Course Description: Transition to Lieutenant (MILT312)

This course provides an introduction to the Army’s officer qualification program for the first year of commissioned officer entry training, providing an overview of Army values and structures. The course will explore military occupational specialties and other basic skills necessary for officers entering the Army. Additionally, this course will provide students with information about Army professional standards, leadership development, education, benefits and compensation. The class is divided into four modules and a final assessment.
