This is an open-access course.

Through the use of a multi-sensory approach, students will build basic and intermediate algebraic skills, including logarithms, rational exponents, polynomials, functions and relations. They will also learn to derive information from graphs and tables. Finally, students will study elementary number theory and probability. It is recommended that MAT024 be taken in Year

(3 units) This course will introduce students to the fundamentals of calculus. The main focus is on techniques and ideas that are essential in the field of applied mathematics and statistics, both for modeling data in real-world situations and for understanding scientific phenomena. Topics include: basic integrals, derivatives, partial derivatives, optimization, analytic geometry, linear algebraic systems of equations, vectors and matrices. This course does not assume any previous mathematical background. Prerequisites: Minimum grade of “C” or better in MAT
