Explain the different legal frameworks and agencies that provide resources and services to victims of crime, including the US Department of Justice (DOJ), victim service providers, and the police. 2. Outline the process of restorative justice from initiation through implementation for juveniles in both residential treatment and probation settings, including factors that influence this process. 3. Identify current research on restorative justice within criminal justice systems as well as within academic studies on a range of topics related to juvenile justice.

1. Students must have successfully completed JUS341 in the previous academic year.
2. Students must not have any failed components or lectures.
3. Students must not have taken any of the compulsory JUS340 sessions during this academic year.
4. Students must have no outstanding fines for the 2018 academic year

This course is an introduction to the philosophy and practice of restorative justice. It will also address the philosophical basis for restorative practice in the justice system as well as discuss the theory and research behind restorative justice. The role of courts, judges, law enforcement agencies, probation officers, parole officers and corrections personnel will also be explored. You will learn about the basics of reparation.
