We will read about the historical profession from both sides – those who practice it and those who study it. We will look at some of the main issues that shape the profession and explore how they have been handled by students, institutions, journals, exhibitions, museums and other organizations. Class sessions will focus on the practical application of history to a variety of contemporary topics.
