This course focuses on the issues of children and adolescents, including their mental, emotional, social, psychological and physical health. The course will address their rights as people, their aspirations and their development across the life span. Emphasis is placed on the child’s role in society and how it influences his or her development. Students will be introduced to contemporary issues in child and adolescent health care and development in a variety of settings.
