Course Description: GEO200 is an introductory level course for all undergraduates. The syllabus covers the history of geographers, the importance of geography in the contemporary world, and the role of geography as a social science. In addition to examining geographic issues related to global environment change, geoarchaeology is also included in the curriculum.

There are two parts to this course: the Practicum and the Thesis. The Practicum is a short, intensive exercise in research on a topic related to the areas of the World Geography course. It can be completed during either Spring Term or Fall Term, but must be taken by the end of Spring Term to receive credit for that term. The Thesis is a more substantial research project related to one of these areas.
