This course is designed to introduce students to a variety of media in the form of multimedia as a way of organizing information, to increase their awareness and understanding of the role that written and visual texts play in shaping society, and to expand their range of writing skills. In addition, this course will provide students with the opportunity to practice effective critical thinking through studying the language of multimedia texts. To assist students with their development as literate and thoughtful practitioners, this course will develop students’ communication skills as they work

At the end of this course, students will be able to: Describe how computers are used to create text in digital media; Utilize chatbots to communicate with others; Demonstrate creative solutions to problems that arise from using

The course students will be able to: Demonstrate the ability to produce a writing assignment that utilizes digital media in one or more genres (e.g., film, video, audio, and image). Produce an original composition with an accompanying written response to at least one other student’s original work. Demonstrate the ability to apply the principles of genre in creating a product that is engaging, well organized, and allows for self-expression. Demonstrate proficiency in writing across multiple genres using a variety of linguistic techniques.
