In addition, this course will provide students with the opportunity to practice effective critical thinking through studying the language of multimedia texts. To assist students with their development as literate and thoughtful practitioners, this course will develop students’ communication skills as they work

This course is designed to help you understand how to use digital media for writing. You will learn how to use a variety of tools such as text editing software, digital photography, graphic design programs and video software and learn how to edit the media and put it together in an artistic way. Students will write texts that have been generated by a computer. They will generate texts using a variety of computer-based writing tools, such as chatbots, digital video, and social media.

The course students will be able to: Demonstrate the ability to produce a writing assignment that utilizes digital media in one or more genres (e.g., film, video, audio, and image). Produce an original composition with an accompanying written response to at least one other student’s original work. Demonstrate the ability to apply the principles of genre in creating a product that is engaging, well organized, and allows for self-expression. Demonstrate proficiency in writing across multiple genres using a variety of linguistic techniques.
