The purpose of this course is to introduce the student to junior engineering design. The project will consist of a senior design team, consisting of three students and an instructor, working together to solve a technical problem in an integrated manner. This course is designed to provide the skills necessary for future work in industry or in technical graduate programs.

This objective is to provide students with the opportunity to analyze, design and create a product. The different applications of engineering design will be presented along with the basic technical skills needed for each application. Students will apply their knowledge of the steps involved in designing a product from concept through completion.

Courses in junior engineering design must be taken for 1, 2 or 3 credits per semester (if taken on an academic quarter basis).
