EDU543 Course Introduction

3 cr. This course introduces students to learning theories and instructional strategies in the classroom, the role of assessment in a learning environment, and how to create a learning environment that supports student achievement. Methods for assessing student knowledge are discussed and how teachers can best respond to assessments is emphasized. Emphasis will be placed on the educational application of different assessment tools.

Prerequisite: Admission to teacher education program (EDU 490) or EDU 510
