EDGM703 Course Objectives

* Students will be able to: 1. Discuss the relationship between dimension and shape 2. Explain an area and perimeter of a rectangular solid 3. Identify and construct triangles, quadrilaterals, pentagons, hexagons and circles
4. Recognise that the area of a circle is πr2
5. Recognise that the area of a triangle is its measure in side + measure in base
6. Summarise the properties of polygons by inspecting their sides

EDGM703 Course Pre-requisites

Topic 2.1: Rectangular Coordinate System • Obtain a rectangular coordinate system by marking points along the x-axis and y-axis in two-dimensional space.

The standard way to mark a point on a coordinate plane is to place a dot on the x-axis at that point, and another dot on the y-axis at the same location. In this case, we are required to draw all four points (x1, y1) and (x2, y2), because these will form our first

EDGM703 Course Duration & Credits

Course Duration & Credits 2 years (80 units) 40 units

This course is an exciting and comprehensive introduction to geometry.
