The Cybersecurity (Cyber) program of study prepares the student to apply critical thinking, problem solving and communication skills in a variety of technological fields. Students will be able to understand, identify and evaluate computer networking systems and their components in support of networking applications. The program is comprised of four courses which cover network design concepts; systems design concepts; application development with the internet; and current cyber security trends.

Course Summary: This course will introduce students to the design and implementation of network security protocols using various cryptographic algorithms and mechanisms. Students will learn the concepts of authentication, access control, data integrity, confidentiality, access control lists, MAC addressing, and packet filtering. Students will be able to design and implement a simple network security system using such techniques as cryptography and encryption.
