COM199 – Communication Studio I (COM199) is a graded course in the Communication Studies Certificate Program. It is an introductory course to communicative competency and written communication skills for students who plan to transfer into the Communication Studies major. The course will help students develop their writing skills, analytical thinking, and strategic planning skills for achieving success in the communication studies major.
The goal of this course is to introduce students to the writing and language process through which they can translate their thoughts into meaningful messages

Information: Summer Intensive Course Comm209 Communication Studio I (COM209) is a six-week summer intensive course open to all undergraduate students who have completed one or more communication studio courses at UBC or another institution. It is intended for students with strong communications skills and previous experience in producing news stories, documentaries, animations, podcasts or other forms of digital media. This includes students who are passionate about storytelling and digital media production.
