By understanding this process of communication we can learn how and why individuals, communities, businesses, nations and governments communicate. The first part of the course introduces students to mass communication theory and provides an overview of major theories in the field. The second part looks at media from a social perspective and highlights different media organizations and approaches to news gathering. This
