This course introduces students to the fraud triangle and the prevention of fraud in accounting. Students will learn about the framework for detecting and preventing fraud in financial statements as well as how to analyze fraudulent transactions and perform internal controls. This course introduces the concepts of fraud and the prevention of fraud. The main objectives are to teach students how to detect fraud, and to teach them how to prevent it by making sure that management will adhere to internal controls. Furthermore, this course introduces students to various tools used by auditors in order to detect financial statement irregularities, as well as the various types of frauds that are perpetrated.
