Stakeholders for the public health issue identified and interest

Key stakeholders for the decision making of increased stimulus payments for Americans entail the U.S. Government and executive branches led by the president, and the judicial branches whose highest body is the Supreme Court of the U.S., Americans, and business owners. Congress’s interest in providing a healthy stimulus package is to ensure that there are urgent actions taking to rescue businesses, families, and the economy damaged by the coronavirus pandemic. Although there are many good intentions for a healthier stimulus package for Americans, stakeholders find themselves in a jam since no bills can become law unless Mitch McConnell, who is serving as Senate majority leader gives his approval and to date, he is still not in agreement with an additional stimulus deal.

Why is it important to identify key stakeholders in a policy analysis?

Careful research and thinking are important when finding key stakeholders for a specific issue. Identifying additional key stakeholders in policy analysis is imperative as he/she may have an interest in the issue at hand. In addition, identifying and understanding stakeholders allows them to come on board to be a part of the effort, which provides buy-in, and support from additional stakeholders by making them essential in the development, planning, and implementation of the analysis (Community Tool Box, 2020). Although every stakeholder cannot be included in the analysis, it is important to identify and address key concerns and understand their point before a firm decision is made. Moreover, identifying key stakeholders can help focus on the core position of their issue at the very beginning of the analysis (Teitelbaum & Wilensky, 2017).
