The goal of this course is to introduce students to the fundamentals of sustainable built environments. Students will understand the concept of sustainability and will be introduced to a variety of building types, systems, and techniques that allow sustainable design solutions to be incorporated into projects. Topics include: energy analysis, air quality, water conservation and treatment, waste management and recycling, local building systems, fabric life cycles and materials. Students will be able to select appropriate technologies for their work with a focus on minimizing environmental impacts and improving sustainability
